The purpose of this announcement is to express the intent of The Jacksonville Transportation Authority to award a Sole Source Contract to Vertex, Inc. for providing software for accessing taxation data. In the United States and Canada, legislation rules and tax routines are maintenance by Vertex, Inc., and independent third-party software company. This taxation data is accessed by the Payroll engine via software provided by Vertex, Inc. and redistributed by Oracle. Customers that have installed either the United States or Canada legislations must also obtain a Vertex license and request monthly updates for tax calculation data or data will not calculate correctly.
